Summary
In 2007, CELDF drafted a Sewage Sludge Ordinance for Campbell County, Virginia that emphasizes democratic self-government and a need to protect the health, safety, and general welfare of residents and the environment. The ordinance would have banned corporations from engaging in the land application of sewage sludge and imposing other regulations of sewage sludge. The ordinance also would have recognized rights of nature. However, it was never submitted.
