Summary
In 2015, West Chester Borough, Pennsylvania adopted an amendment to their home rule charter, banning fracking, and recognizing rights of nature. The community bill of rights gave residents the right to local community self-government, to assert the right to local community self-government, water, clean air, peaceful enjoyment of home, and a sustainable energy future. Natural communities and ecosystems were given the right to clean water, clean air, and exist and flourish.
