Summary
In 2012, the Bolivian government passed the Mother Earth Law and Integral Development to Live Well. The law is based on the indigenous model of “living well” and focuses on shifting the country away from an extractivist and capitalist model toward a harmonious and sustainable relationship between humans and nature. The law addresses sustainable approaches to food and resource production and climate change mitigation.
