Summary
In 2014, the town of Alexandria, New Hampshire adopted a community bill of rights ordinance that bans environmentally and economically unsustainable energy projects and recognizes rights of ecosystems. It also recognizes the right to a sustainable energy future, scenic preservation, water, and self-government. The town adopted the ordinance in response to fears over wind turbine projects.
