Summary
In 2010, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution 65/164 promoting harmony with nature. It expresses its concern about the documented environmental degradation and the negative impact on nature resulting from human activity. It calls sustainable development a holistic concept and requests a report from the Secretary-General outlining “ways to promote a holistic approach to sustainable development in harmony with nature.”
