Summary
In 2014, the Group of 77 approved a declaration “For a new world order for living well,” which identifies sustainable development objectives to replace the UN’s millennium goals—emphasizing a need for an integrated approach that promotes the usage of natural resources in harmony with nature and “Mother Earth.” The declaration also addresses sovereignty in the global South, national development, and situational needs of developing countries. The declaration is still in effect at the time of this summary.
