Summary
In 2015, Pope Francis addressed members of the UN at its headquarters in New York. In his address, he said that “it must be stated that a true ‘right of the environment ‘does exist” and gave two reasons: “human beings are part of the environment” and “every creature, particularly a living creature, has an intrinsic value, in its existence, its life, its beauty, and its interdependence with other creatures.”
