Summary

In 2009, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution saying it is “convinced that humanity can and should live in harmony with nature.” The resolution expressed its concern over documented environmental degradation and the negative impact on nature resulting from human activity. The resolution invited Member States to consider the issue of harmony with nature.
