Summary
In 2018, Plymouth, New Hampshire voted to adopt a community rights-based ordinance guaranteeing the town’s right to a sustainable energy future and banning land acquisition for the construction or operation of unsustainable energy projects within the town. The ordinance also recognized rights of nature. The town of Plymouth worked with CELDF for several years in order to adopt this ordinance and halt the construction of Northern Pass, a high-tower electrical transition line bringing delivering hydro-power from Canada.
