Summary

In 2017, M. Valeria Berros, Rafael Colombo and Natalia Barrilis proposed an amendment to the Province of Santa Fe Constitution that would better reflect the diversity of ways of human relationships to nature and the rights of nature. A lengthy analysis of laws and constitutions from other provinces proceeds the proposed amendment. The amendment establishes the current and future community rights to a clean environment, the responsibility of government and civil individuals in maintaining those rights, and the use of the precautionary principle. Rights of originary and indigenous peoples are recognized by the amendment.
