Summary
In 2018, the town of Plymouth, New Hampshire adopted a community bill of rights that bans land acquisition for the construction or operation of unsustainable energy projects. The ordinance also asserted residents’ right to clean air, pure water, and local community self-government, a sustainable energy future, scenic preservation, and peaceful enjoyment of home. The ordinance also recognizes rights of ecosystems within Plymouth to exist, flourish, and naturally evolve. The ordinance is still in effect at the time of this summary.
