Summary
In 2010, residents of Harvey’s Lake, Pennsylvania asked their city council to consider holding a public meeting to discuss an anti-fracking ordinance drafted by CELDF. The ordinance gives residents the right to local self-government, a healthy environment, and water. The ordinance also would have recognized the rights of nature, which includes the right to water and the right to exist and flourish. However, council members refused to hold a meeting to consider the ordinance.
